Rare species off the Dutch coast (Nijssen & de Groot, 1987, p. 63), nowadays almost disappeared (Nijssen, 2001, p. 44). Today egg-capsules of R. brachyura rarely wash ashore in the Netherlands (Bor, 1998, p. 28).
