Uncommon species in the Dutch North Sea region, mainly found from June till October (Nijssen & de Groot, 1987, p. 55; Nijssen, 2001, p. 35).
Stranding data:

| 30 November 1950 | Male with a total length of 177 cm washed ashore on the beach near Bloemendaal (Adema, 1987, p. 78). |
| 8 January 1946 | Specimen with an estimated length of 175 cm washed ashore on the beach of Terschelling island. The shark was in an advanced state of decomposition (Adema, 1987, p. 77). |

| 12 July 1979 | Specimen with an estimated length of 180 cm caught at West Hinder (de Groot, 1979, p. 427). |
| May 1954 | According to a newspaper-report in 'het Parool' dated 21 May 1954, a porbeagle with a length of 330 cm was caught in the Schelde (Oosterschelde ?) and landed in Bergen op Zoom (Adema, 1987, p. 78). |
